Maria Gerber, a Florida native, and resident of Southwest Florida started the firm in 2001 and has years of experience in the justice system. She is an accident victim who relates her own experience when providing individualized attention to those she represents. Her combined legal and personal experience provides insight that she utilizes in aggressively fighting for your rights. Maria was a State Prosecutor with the Pinellas County State Attorney’s Office from 1995-1998. As an Assistant State Attorney, she prosecuted thousands of criminal cases, tried over 100 jury trials, and served as a lead trial attorney supervising a team of prosecutors. She handled criminal cases ranging from battery to DUI manslaughter. Upon entering private practice in 1998, Maria joined a 30 lawyer civil trial firm. Throughout her years in private practice, Maria has gained experience in serving personal injury clients and has built a large civil practice with a focus on accident and injury claims.
Maria only represents injured children and adults and never represents insurance companies. Maria has also been an instructor at the St. Petersburg Junior College and Polk Community College, where she has lectured on police practice, accident investigation, use of force, constitutional and criminal law. As a prior accident victim, she uses her education, personal experience, and training to provide you with personal, yet aggressive legal counsel.
Education
Maria earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of South Florida, Tampa. In 1994, she earned a Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from Stetson College of Law, St. Petersburg.

Maria was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995. She is licensed to practice in all Florida State Courts and is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association (formerly the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers), and The American Association for Justice.
